I listen to trump as he spews hatred for Mexicans and women, and every other republican who spew hate for women and think they should be barefoot pregnant and in the kitchen. There is another whole section of american life they seem almost afraid to mention, the military and the wounded warriors coming home.
Were at war, we have been since 2003 but not one politician is talking about the screwed up veterans affairs, not one is talking about what to do about the 22-25 veterans who made it home but commit suicide every day, not one is talking about the cut to funding for service animals for veterans yet the benefits of having one cannot be argued.
More than a million soldiers ,sailors and marines and national guards men and air force personnel have served in the Iraq/Afghanistan war, thousands have died and hundreds of thousands have come home injured ,incapacitated or dis or otherwise abled yet not a mention?
If a million oil executives or bankers had a problem, or as we see members of the NRA had one it would be top of every debate, Republicans and democrats alike would sell their souls to the devil to have a chance to talk about it on camera.
Yet the very people who lay down their lives so millionaire bankers and oilmen can lunch in restaurants and wear ten thousand dollar suits are barely on the radar?
America If you give a tinkers damn about our military tell your politician enough, get up in their face and demand to know what they are going to do if they change the subject change your vote if they say nothing walk away.
Everyone thinks it’s fine to blame the black guy and charging him with being black while being president, But he does at least talk about the military, he keeps them on the public radar, is he perfect? None of them are or wed pray to them not vote for them.
My nephew is a marine and thankfully so far he’s safe but he’s home on leave and all he’s talking about is serving in Afghanistan. If he does I better get a good photo now, because I can tell you no one who ever goes to war comes back the same and when they don’t it’s our job to care for them, it’s the governments job to pay for it it’s the deal a soldier makes they’ll lay down their life and the government makes sure someone is their after to put it together again. My uncle and several other members of my family served in vietnam in the australian military and one of them made acoment that although almost 50 years ago still rings true”I CAME HOME IN 74 MY SOUL CAME HOME TEN YEARS LATER” Let’s call it the humpty dumpty factor because let’s face it the way the VA is at the moment about all they do is run around screaming HURRY UP AND WAIT and while they wait the soldiers die , they die in numbers so large it’s obscene.
Let’s make it easy for the government, lets make them explain before they run the real meaning of WE THE PEOPLE, it is a complete statement without exclusions or caveats. If you want to run the country you stand for all of the “WE THE PEOPLE” or you don’t damn well stand at all.
If you send my nephew or anyone else’s nephew or son or husband or brother or sister or mother or daughter into harm’s way, unless you’re prepared to go with them and block the fucking bullets you better damn well be ready to meet them when they get home and give them everything they need.
You better make sure the doctors ready the cheque book has no limit and the phone always gets answered when they need someone to listen because right now Our inept system has murdered more American heroes than all the terrorist groups combined ever did.
