You don’t have to call the cops at daycare in Texas, you’ll find them using or blocking the disabled access parking !!

PLEASE READ THE STORY BELOW IT IS TAKEN FROM THE FACEBOOK WALL OF ABEL ROSE
Sorry to have to post this! But if you are with my daughters daycare Ella will never back ever again. The discrimination against special needs is awful. Ella no longer with them. Very disrespectful and when I call the police to handle the issues about a off duty police officer blocked handicap parking and start telling me he’s a police officer so it doesn’t matter. Then calling the police they go in a say we harass the people who park in handicap parking because they don’t have tags. Sorry that’s the last straw with them. And all the daycare has done is send home notes saying please don’t park there. Oh yeah people didn’t give a damn. So I am done I will take this to court legally I know it’s discrimination against special needs. Sorry for the rant but I am not letting this go. I will let other parents know. About this also!!!
Mia’s thoughts-
The story above is a short form of a situation happening to friends of mine down in Waxahachie, Texas. The rose family are a a family of hard working farmers who like most people on the land work other jobs outside the farm to pay the bills,
abel family

They have two Amazing children the youngest Abel is somewhere between two and three and was born with spina Bifida and hydrocephalus but don’t call this kid disabled he may be in a wheelchair but he’s living proof walking is over rated.

He lives life to the fullest and chair skates and is a typical two year old

but getting around does require a specially equipped van with a drop down ramp to load him in and out so disabled parking spaces are part of every day life.

Now Abel’s partner in crime and best buddy is his sister Ella, she has Autism and attends daycare in their local area.

The roses are good people, they are 100% there for their kids and all they expect from those they bring into their lives is the same.

I’m quite sure they checked out the daycare before Ella went there, just like I’m sure everyone of abels doctors were thoroughly vetted. In fact I know they did because I have regularly seen them asking for opinions of medicos and hospitals from other spina Bifida parents online.

Now we who have wheels under our asses live with the fact that there are assholes out there who see disabled access parks and the ramp drop down area beside them as reserved parking for their Abel bodies asses and we don’t put up with it.

Why should abels mom and dad ?

The situation has been that the owner of the childrens daycare regularly uses the disabled park as his private space, and doesn’t give a flying f**K. The situation above was bad enough but the final straw was a cop who blocked the parking space and refused to move and when confronted the roses were told “he’s a cop he’s allowed”
BULLSHIT a police officer can block a disabled parking space only if on official business and only then if it absolutely unavoidable.

The childcare center has harassed and harangued and made a lot of noise, but when push comes to shove they blame the disabled for their arrogance as if they’re deliberately disabled just to make the center owners life hard? Wow he might have have to walk 6 feet to his door?

If you have this happening in your life, if you’re sick of seeing the dis and otherwise abled community being ignored and belittled when it comes to legal access and parking then contact the congress men and senators in your area and yell enough. Especially contact the roses care of the facebook site “fearless Abel” and throw your support behind them, let them know everything might be bigger in Texas but you draw the line at disabled discrimination.

I am a disabled woman who through no fault of my own has wheels under my ass. I rely on the decency and common sense of local, state and federal goverments, as well as the retail community to abide by the disabled access laws and provide adequate ramps, disabled toilets, and not use them as store rooms or broom closets. This blog exists to find the offenders and out them, inform them, and report them if necessary and shame them into doing the right thing when all else fails.
