T’was the week before christmas

Twas the week before Christmas and the republicans were whining
while Ella and I hit the town dining
The hooves on the rooftops were homeless not reindeer
after all this was the Bronx not Disney

Obama was all snug tucked firmly in his bed
while Palin was spewing diatribe with dread
yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus you can watch him on cable
and see him in stores

Presents are coming down the Chimney’s in books
in queens and the Bronx they’re sparse and not plenty
because the TV is old and the sofa is rented
in this country at Christmas when its mostly covered in snow
we still have thousands with no where to go
you have your i-pad and smart phone and such

But thousands go with out a roof clothes or a bed for the night
so on dasher on dancer on Rudolf and blitz-en
bring happiness to all not just those who are asking

more children sleep out than did those in the thirties
? hungry cold and extremely dirty
yes you’re so comfortable while thousands are hurting
what shall we do for the thousands that hurt?
try giving and feeding and spending till it hurts
if you can close a door on your house and have children, and pets a loving spouse

then spare a nickel a dime even a quarter to many that’s socks a meal and water

only when all can truly be happy can Santa cry out

merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight

Author: disabledaccessdenied

I am a disabled woman who through no fault of my own has wheels under my ass. I rely on the decency and common sense of local, state and federal goverments, as well as the retail community to abide by the disabled access laws and provide adequate ramps, disabled toilets, and not use them as store rooms or broom closets. This blog exists to find the offenders and out them, inform them, and report them if necessary and shame them into doing the right thing when all else fails.
