An Australian artist is facing allegations of child sex abuse as part of a UK investigation into the late British entertainer Jimmy Savile,
BRITISH police have interviewed an alleged victim of a top Australian entertainer(rolf harris) arrested last week for suspected sexual assault.
The 83-year-old showbiz star was arrested last Thursday after a lengthy interview by detectives from Operation Yewtree which has so far arrested 11 suspects for alleged assaults dating back to the 1960s.
The man, who has not been named and has engaged lawyers to defend the claims, was bailed to again appear before police in May.
News Ltd has learned Metropolitan Police in London have now interviewed a female alleged victim of the Aussie star.
She has had a long association with the man and approached police last year with information that prompted the investigation.
It is understood the woman has alleged she was assaulted over a lengthy period of time predominantly in the UK.
It is believed state police in Australia have been liaising with the British police, via the Australian Federal Police; critical to their probe has been whether there are other claims that could now surface to confirm or not a pattern of abuse from his early days in Australia in the 1960s.
British police have declined to confirm or deny they now have a victim in the UK, as opposed to third party claims, or that their investigation has now swung to potential witnesses in Australia.
The entertainer has been in hiding since it surfaced last week he had been arrested on suspicion of ”sexual offences”.
Some members of his family have declined to comment about the latest developments and his management has also not returned calls.
The man, in the presence of his lawyers, was first interviewed by British police in November last year after they were handed a complaint in the wake of the Jimmy Savile saga.
Savile, a household name in the UK, died in 2011 but has since been branded the most prolific abuser in UK history with at least 450 victims.
Police have officially recorded 214 criminal offences against the man mostly for sexually abusing children as young as nine years of age.
Police have admitted part of the reason he was not arrested prior to his death was that state police had failed ”to join the dots” on intelligence held by various police services.
Police have confirmed the Australian entertainer was not directly linked to Savile but was in the ”other” category of the Yewtree probe into claims of sex assault made against high profile stars in the wake of the Savile publicity.

I am a disabled woman who through no fault of my own has wheels under my ass. I rely on the decency and common sense of local, state and federal goverments, as well as the retail community to abide by the disabled access laws and provide adequate ramps, disabled toilets, and not use them as store rooms or broom closets. This blog exists to find the offenders and out them, inform them, and report them if necessary and shame them into doing the right thing when all else fails.
