I Murdered Him Because He Was There – Just Right There!
Yesterday the murder and disappearance of Greenwich Village 8 year old Etan Patz was solved when a 51 year old hispanic man in New Jersey confessed.
After 24 hours of questioning in New Jersey, he was extradited to Manhattan and questioned for another 24 hours. He gave up facts that only the killer would know. The monster was 18 when working as a counter assistant in a Manhattan bodega on the same block as Etan’s home. Etan was on his way to get on the school bus, his first time being allowed to walk to the bus alone on a hot day. He was lured by the killer to his death with the offer of a free soda, then taken to the basement and from reports, strangled to death and put in a plastic bag a block away — never to be found. When asked why Etan, he simply replied because he was there, he was just there!
Parents, stop over thinking pedophilia and child abduction and murder. Sure old men say they lost their puppies or they have candy or ice cream or they were sent by the kids parents, but then there is the upper echelon of monster. So evil at such a young age they just choose your child because they were there! They were convenient. They choose their victim like they choose their clothes for the day. They were the first thing in the closet. Etan was the closest child to him, so if they can be sick enough to pick at random, then its not about male or female, black or Jew, Asian or Italian, they just need to kill. Stop categorizing in your head who to protect your most cherished angels from.
CHOOSE ALL, THE MONSTERS DO.
The only way to beat criminal is, in some ways to think like one. Ask any good cop they’ll tell you they do.
It is a sad indictment of us and our society that no one can be trusted, but ask yourself how many times did Etan’s parents buy groceries from this pig. How many times may he have delivered milk, bread and eggs to their home or possibly held the door for Etan’s mother as she left the store and in her head she thought “wow what a nice guy.” So when Etan’s parents were making the decision to allow their son to walk to the bus stop alone, they didn’t consider there was a significant threat.
How many times have you trusted a shop worker, a waiter, an assistant in a store because they look nice? Son of Sam had priests and teachers give character reference at his trial. Geoffrey Dharma was a popular man in his neighborhood, nearly every murderer and pedophile in history has invited gasps of “not him he’s so nice” from everyone who knew them.
After this case was solved we can take a little solace in the thought that the NYPD will never stop looking, but if he was a serial killer, and quite honestly we don’t know that he isn’t yet, he had 33 years to get away with it. He obviously had his modus operandi down pat.
Be forever vigilante parents. Train your children well but let them be children. Demand of yourself that you be their guardian and protector. Accept nothing less than extreme vigilance of yourself because only through your protection can you safeguard your child from meeting Etan’s fate, or end up 54 years old having night mares still from their childhood molestation writing a story like this. Suffer unto no one your little children because their home is with you and not the kingdom of heaven, not for a long time anyway if you get it right.
