The NYC 2012 AIDS Walk – is Rolling for their Cure & We Need your Help – Please Donate

On May 20th 2012 the Annual GMHC AIDS Walk is happening around New York City. Last year, for the first time, Ella and I rolled for their cure.

Again this year, while building up towards my own roll across the country on May 12th next year, I still need to support the AIDS community worldwide.

Ella and I are lesbian. We have lost dozens of friends to this illness, every day people die from AIDS around the world are millions are living with it. In all good conscience I as a gay woman cannot allow myself to get a hall pass to ignore it this year because I have my own project.

So please go to the link below and support us in our roll on the 20th by donating what you can. Everything helps because we the people have to stand for the people or who the hell will — the government? We tried waiting for the government to step up, but since Ronald Reagan set a record at the height of the outbreak of this pandemic by never once even saying the word AIDS during the entirety of his presidency the closest anyone else has come since is lip service. The fight is left up to you and I the person next you. So please help rid the world of this curse before it hits someone you love. Thank you

If you would like to join us and walk or roll please go to the link and start fundraising.  See you on the starting line.

I am a disabled woman who through no fault of my own has wheels under my ass. I rely on the decency and common sense of local, state and federal goverments, as well as the retail community to abide by the disabled access laws and provide adequate ramps, disabled toilets, and not use them as store rooms or broom closets. This blog exists to find the offenders and out them, inform them, and report them if necessary and shame them into doing the right thing when all else fails.
